New publication: CQI-34 Software Assurance Approval Process (SAAP)
February 2025

In February 2025, the new CQI-34 SAAP (Software Assurance and Approval Process) guideline was published, which was developed specifically for the sampling and approval process of software in the automotive industry. It addresses the increasing importance of embedded software, particularly in the context of electric vehicles, and provides a structured approach for the approval and change management of software products.

The guideline supports companies in ensuring the quality and safety of software solutions, minimizing risks in the development process and ensuring the consistent release of software components. It helps to optimize processes and meet compliance requirements for stand-alone software and embedded systems.

With the AIAG CQI-34 SAAP, a framework has been created that meets the complex requirements of automotive software. It combines proven development standards with a comprehensive approval approach to ensure sustainable quality, safety and functionality.
