Relevance and Application of the CQI-20 Guideline

The second edition of the AIAG CQI-20 was published in July 2018.

The North American automotive association AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) is the publisher of this guideline. CQI-20 outlines a structured problem-solving approach tailored to the automotive industry. Its objective is to systematically analyse root causes and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence of issues. The guideline provides a hands-on framework for effective, team-based problem solving using quality data and process knowledge.

The second edition of the CQI-20 Effective Problem Solving Guideline was published in July 2018.

The new CQI-20 standard can be purchased directly from AIAG.

You have the option to obtain the standard as either:

  • an e-document including the assessment, or
  • a printed hard copy with a downloadable assessment.
